Competence Improvement Infographic

The Competence Improvement component is for those registrants identified during the Competence Review component as requiring support in one or more areas of their practice. Recommendations for improvement are made by staff and/or committee based on the results of the Competence Review.

Registrants who are required to complete the Competence Improvement will be notified. They will complete mandatory learning activities specific to the registrant based on the learning needs identified in the peer assessment. These learning activities must be completed within a specific timeline which will depend on the types of learning activities and the amount of support which is required. Failure to participate fully in Competence Improvement may result in regulatory consequences up to and including practice restrictions and disciplinary action.
